La Memoria de las Paredes is a photography series that brings my grandfather’s archival material into dialogue with my own photographic work. Fragments of family stories across generations are bridged together by the walls that form my family’s home. Through the layering of images, stitching, and a variety of materialities and opacities, the work merges together past, present, and future compressing generational time. The project is guided by the traces left behind, the untold stories hidden in the walls, specifically those of women, and the nature of these walls informed by Mexican culture, the place where this history unfolds.
